This project proposes an minimalist architecture expression. Villa Kahala presents a lifted modern dogtrot archetype variation as a residence.

An economy of construction is achieved through a modular approach. The envelope of the home is designed to increase air circulation and allow natural light to be manually adjusted. The layering of the space, sliding and folding doors, and use of floor to ceiling glass accentuate the experience of the surrounding landscape and pool. Designed for a tropical climate, in response to potential sea level rise, the architecture hovers five feet above the ground.
